It’s called Boudoir.
Many women don’t know what the word boudoir means in terms of photography. In the eighties it was called Glamour shots, which was a franchise that popped up in many malls around the country. Often women in their 40’s and 50’s still search for that term on the Internet when they are thinking of having provocative photos taken. Others search Pin-up, retro, sexy or intimate photos. They know what they want but they are not sure what it is called. We photographers are working hard to get the term Boudoir photography recognized by the general public. It is starting to catch on. I’v seen a dramatic increase in woman looking for boudoir photography in the past year. It’s why we started this site. Our photographers must be approved by a panel of professional photographers before they are allowed to join the site.
