Boudoir Posing Inspiration ~ Boudoir Tips

Posted March 7, 2012 by admin in Blog, Boudoir Tips, Photographer Spotlight, Photography Tips | No comments yet

With Valentine’s Day well behind us, we must quickly turn our focus to Bridal season! In the world of Boudoir Photography I find that with each new season of shooting comes new experiences, clients and amazingly sexy photography options. It is time to plan for successful wedding season in boudoir photography. Focusing on much of the same ideals as we do for Valentine’s day.

As a boudoir photographer, I try to focus on the glamour of the women I shoot. It’s not just about the booty, the lingerie or the bedroom..It’s about the overall glamour experience for our boudoir clients.  After shooting these images this past valentine’s day we decided to keep the sets simple, the images free of too much photoshop and focus on the woman! While at the same time..finding that happy medium between Glamour, sexiness and playfulness for their partners. Here at April Belle Photos we embrace boudoir..but we love to “Glamourize” the experience for our client! I hope you enjoy the photos and find them inspiring!

It’s worth your time to click on their link and take a look. I definitely think an investment in one of these incredible outfits would be a great idea for your boudoir shoot. And if you purchase one I hope you come to me, Robin Owen Photography for your session!

Interview With John Cleary One of England’s Top Boudoir Photographers

An interview with John Cleary from JC Boudoir

Why do your clients pick you?

We go out of our way to make the whole session a great experience; no two sessions are ever the same because we take time to understand our client’s motivation for doing boudoir and try to build a theme around that whenever possible. On the day, we greet our clients with a warm smile and a glass of fine champagne on arrival, we recognise that it’s probably the scariest thing that they’ve ever done and we work hard to alleviate any nerves before we start the photography session. Our hair and makeup artist is very good at putting them at their ease as we transform them ready for their session. Once the photography starts we like to have a bit of a laugh to break any initial tension and I find our clients usually relax into it fairly quickly. We never forget that our clients aren’t models and so don’t know what to do, I usually demonstrate the poses for them first which is usually enough to keep the laughter flowing.

Boudoir Photographer Sharing Shoot Secretes

Posted November 19, 2011 by admin in Blog | No comments yet

With Holiday’s quickly approaching all of us, we at April Belle Photos find our voicemail and inbox packed
with SO many questions about booking a Boudoir Photo Session.
Yes, of course inquires as to our Pricing..Availability…Location are most clients first approach in to the world of Boudoir photography.
But the Brave ones want to know MORE. Asking themselves..HOW can I look like the girls on your site?
It’s a process! It takes you trusting your boudoir photographer and his/her team with your Half Naked self. So I try to
be as open and forthcoming as possible with my clients. I say what I see and when your having second thoughts or
doubts..It’s OKAY! We have a way, we have an eye and mostly..We want nothing more than you to have
the sexiest day ever…

BUT, more than that.. if a women is seriously considering diving into our world, they have so many inner fears and questions. What to bring and need to do to prepare themselves to be FULLY ready for the big shoot day???
As a woman, I certainly understand the hesitations our clients face. The extreme fear as the day gets closer and closer to becoming naked (or close to it) in front of perfect strangers in a strange place!
As part of our booking process we try to prepare clients with a
TO DO LIST. This list helps the client focus on their “homework” rather than letting the fear of the day takeover.
Some simple homework can turn Boudoir Photo Shoot into
one of the most exciting and self fulfilling days you can do
for experience as a woman..for YOURSELF,  regardless who the intended receiver is of your photos.
While we have a two page info pack available to our BOOKED clients, here are a few of the KEY points..
  1. BREATH. May seem like a silly item to prepare for..but once placed in front of the lens and the lights..We all tend to Suck it in and stop breathing. NO ONE looks good while holding their breath. Practice in front of your bathroom mirror..posing and BREATHING at the same time. Teach yourself to RELAX your
facial muscles and most of all make your eyes sparkle.
  1. DIETING. PLEASE and PLEASE (twice is needed) DO NOT  starve yourself for days before your photo shoot. Shooting
can be tiring. It takes energy and stamina to get through the day. Of course we say limiting salt and heavy carbs the day
or even the day before is always a great idea. We by no means need a  perfect size 2 walking through the door. We will
go over your little “imperfections” upon arrival ( We all feel we have that certain area we don’t LOVE). After I know what
these areas are..We can help to diminish your insecurities. Through makeup, hair..posing..wardrobe selections…and of
course a little photoshop will help
  1. INSPIRATION. We always welcome any inspirational photos, magazine shots and or “ideas” you have for your shoot. This is YOUR day. Most woman only do this one time, make sure you spend some time on line or in the magazine section getting inspired for your own shoot. As you sit in hair/makeup..feel
feel free to jump into our extensive selection of Magazines for some last minute ideas!  We cant promise to make you
look like Adriana laying on that bed, but we can certainly help you “feel” and look like the sexiest YOU, you can be.
